Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, a Democrat, won a second term over Republican challenger Cory Bowman Tuesday. Bowman, who is half-brother to Vice President J.D. Vance, focused mainly on concerns about public safety in the city following a number of high-profile incidents downtown and in Over-the-Rhine over the summer. Pureval won more than 80 percent of early votes cast. Final vote totals aren't tabulated yet, but the Associated Press called the race for the Pureval at about 8:20 Tuesday evening
