The government shutdown has entered its 35th day – now tying the longest shutdown in U.S.history. The Senate will vote at 11:30 a.m. on a House-passed continuing resolution, which has failed to advance in the Senate 13 times so far. Republicans have expressed hope that they could begin peeling off Democrats to support the resolution.
